haven't written in here in awhile, deciding that this blog isn't working for me. plans are to write for a Central Michigan University blog, come fall.

Until then, busy with working and my summer Marketing/Public Relations internship.

'Forgiving & forgetting are fused together, flip sides of the same coin and yet they couldn't both exist at the same time. Choosing one meant that you sacrificed seeing the other.'
-Jodi Picoult

You know how everyone always says..."I'll forgive you, but I'll never forget..."

completely not possibly.
So really think about forgiving if they've hurt you so deeply bad that you'll never forget. Because trust won't be easy to regain IF possible.

"When dealing with people, let us remember we are not dealing with creatures of logic. We are dealing with creatures of emotion, creatures bustling with prejudices and motivated by pride and vanity." -Dale Carnegie

this quote relates to all means of communication. I like how it fits in with Public Relations, very accurate.

Just watched the president speak...did a fine job I may add.

what a girl needs

I've been slacking with this whole blog thing. Now that it's a new year and new semester I should be able to take a different approach on when and what I write. I'm not too sure the angle I'll pursue but for now I'll stick with this:

A woman should have
...one old love
she can imagine going back to...
and one who reminds her how far shes come...

A woman should have
...enough money within her control to move out and rent a place of her own even if she never wants to or needs to...

A woman should have
...something perfect to wear if the employer or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour...

A woman should have
...a youth she's content with
to leave behind...

A woman should have
...a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to retelling in her old age...

A woman should have
...a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra...

A woman should have
...one friend who always makes her laugh...and one who lets her cry...

A woman should have
...a good peice of furniture that was not previously owned by anyone else in her family...

A woman should have
...eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems, and a recipe for a meal that will make her guests feel honored...

A woman should have
...feeling of control over her destiny...

Every woman should know
how to fall in love without losing herself

Every woman should know
how to quit a job
break up with a lover
and confront a friend without ruining the friendship

Every woman should know
when to try harder
and when to walk away

Every woman should know
that she can't change the width of her calves, the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents

Every woman should know
that her childhood may not have been perfect...but it's over

Every woman should know
what she would and wouldn't do for love and more

Every woman should know
how to live alone even if she doesn't like it

Every woman should know
whom she can trust
whom she can't
and why she shouldn't take it personally

Every woman should know
where to go...
be it to her best friends kitchen table
or a charming inn in the woods...
when her soul needs soothing

Every woman should know
what she can and can not accomplish in a day, a week, a month and a year

"Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction."
-John F. Kennedy

Once Christmas Break begins, I'll have some spare time to blog about the semester. Mainly helpful class notes and such.

The perception of beauty in this world is off, way off.
Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knEIM16NuPg

Dove campaign for real beauty is excellent, one of my favorites growing up...there needs to be more like it.

It's just a random thought, now back to planning the New Year Bowl, and getting ready for Sports Illustrated meeting at 10.

I do not have much experience with planning and putting together events, so I'm changing that.

I am working on a combined fundraiser for PRSSA and the Down Syndrome Guild of Southeast Michigan; A New Year Bowl.

The event will take place on Sunday, Jan. 4 at Century Bowl, in Waterford, Mich.
This fundraiser is an experiment for me and for PRSSA. If this event is successful, I hope it will be passed on to later chapters & will provide me with some confidence.

I still need to iron out a lot of details, but so far it's going smoothly. It's crazy to see how many teeny tiny details are involved in planning something.

I can't imagine how my wedding will be, ha ha.
